Authorities say a woman used a child to smuggle drugs in to an inmate at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility.
Investigators from the sheriff's office say it happened when Shanita Limehouse was visiting inmate Kadeem Lewis in January.
They say Limehouse used the 6-year-old child to pass synthetic marijuana and matches to Lewis.
Limehouse and Lewis are both facing charges, including promoting prison contraband and endangering the welfare of a child.
