Investigators say they uncovered drugs, weapons and cash Thursday during a raid of a Mastic man’s home.
Suffolk police arrested Patrick O’Brien after searching his home on Pawnee Avenue. They say the 43-year-old had a kilo of cocaine and other sure signs that O’Brien was operating as a drug dealer.
Authorities say they found more than $8,000 in cash, a scale, packaging materials and a 20-gauge shotgun. O’Brien is also accused of having a stun gun, marijuana and steroids.
O’Brien has four prior criminal convictions, according to prosecutors.
He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $150,000. O’Brien’s next court date will be July 3.
"This is a new case. We're going to wait to see how this pans out, but we're not going to comment at this time," said Michael Castro, O’Brien’s attorney. Neighbors meanwhile tell News 12 that O'Brien seemed like a normal guy with a wife and two teenage kids.
