Increased security expected for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
More security is expected to ensure safety at New York City's annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The security measures are extending to Wednesday's balloon inflation in Central Park, where all participating will be heavily screened.
The inflation is also being moved up two hours, running from 1 to 8 p.m.
As for Thursday, police presence will be increased on the ground and in the air.
All intersections along the parade route will also be blocked off.
The updated measures come after eight people were killed in Manhattan on Halloween by a truck.
