Dozens of children will be getting toys this holiday thanks to the kindness of a Huntington student.
Declan Gallagher, 12, started his own business to do good for others.
He calls it “Kindling 4 Kids” and raises money for Toys for Tots from selling firewood.
“There’s a lot of people in this world who are less fortunate, and I want to help them out and make them happy,” Gallagher says.
Gallagher cuts, bundles and then sells firewood to local business like Kleet Lumber in Huntington.
He raised over $1,200 so far and used the money to buy toys and deliver them to the Toys for Toys drop-off location at Huntington Town Hall.
“I think it feels really good when you give to other people in need,” Gallagher says.
