I LOVE NY launched its annual fall foliage report Wednesday, highlighting some of the best places across New York to see vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow as autumn begins to transform the landscape.
"New York State boasts one of the longest and most colorful fall foliage seasons in the country, typically starting in late September and ending in November," the website states.
Nearly 100 volunteer “leaf spotters” update the program’s interactive map each week, providing a real-time look at foliage conditions across the state.
According to the state's tourism office, some of the top destinations for fall color include the Adirondacks, Otsego Lake and portions of the Hudson Valley, offering spectacular views without leaving New York.
