A new bill introduced in the Town of Huntington Tuesday would ban smoking at town athletic fields.
Parents of children who use the town's athletic fields told News 12 that the bill is a "no brainer."
The legislation would also ban e-cigarettes, hookah, vaping and marijuana from the fields.
Smoking has already been banned at town playgrounds and beaches.
Dan Huber, a former smoker, says it's important that adults set a good example for children.
"The trend is leaning towards no one smoking, so let's keep going in that direction," says Huber.
A vote on the smoking ban will be held on Aug. 16.
