The Huntington Town Council says it is considering two proposals to limit short-term rental homes and rooms within the town.
They say the ban will affect property owners who rent out their homes and rooms for less than 30 days.
Airbnb user Shawn Welnak, of Huntington, says he earns about $9,000 a year from renting out his home, which help pay his expenses for living on Long Island.
"I think those few problem properties could lead to deep harm to the people that need help the most making ends meet," he says.
A town board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, to discuss the proposals.
