Hundreds of residents rallied in front of Nissequogue State Park Sunday in an effort to save their park. The protesters chanted one message for Governor Eliot Spitzer: ?Keep the park in King's Park.? The 370-acre piece of property became Nissequogue Park last year as a result of lobbying by residents. The property was previously part of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center and was prime land for development before residents won their battle to save the open space. Now residents say they have heard that Albany and the Spitzer administration may take away the park they fought so hard for.Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy (D-NY) says there's no indication that the park will be moved. Levy says the only question is the designation of the park?s jurisdiction.
