The forecast is calling for
temperatures of 90-plus for the next few days, and medical professionals say people should take note of the health risks associated with that kind of heat.
Experts warn too much fun in the sun can lead to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Nurse Practitioner Christopher Darienzo says symptoms to be aware of are dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting and excessive sweating.
Darienzo says those symptoms can lead to dehydration, seizures and even death. He recommends drinking plenty of water, wearing loose-fitting, light-colored clothing and taking breaks from exposure to the heat by heading indoors into air conditioning.
