The sight of two horses in a Selden backyard has neighbors worried and very surprised.
Frank Biondi says the house next to his on Willow Street has been an eyesore for years, but he never thought it?d become home to two large horses who seemingly just appeared.
According to the Town of Brookhaven, residents are allowed to have two horses if they have at least an acre of property. The Willow Street property is only about one-third of an acre. The owners have been issued two violations and were told to make better arrangements for the horses or remove them within 24 hours.
News 12 Long Island left a note at the home after no one answered the door. SPCA investigators also found safety problems in the backyard. Neighbors say they?re worried for the horses? safety as well.
