Homeowner charged after dozens of animals pulled from Lake Ronkonkoma home

Officials say a homeowner has been charged after dozens of animals were pulled from a home in Lake Ronkonkoma last night.
According to the SPCA, there were 47 cats, one turtle and one parrot living in deplorable conditions were removed from the home on Arlington Road.
Officials say hazmat suits had to be worn to enter the home where, where they encountered about a foot high of feces piled up.
Fire marshals condemned the home, and all animals are still being evaluated by the SPCA.
The owner, 62-year-old Marilyn Brischler, faces 49 counts of animal cruelty. Brischler could face up to one year in jail or a $1,000 fine.
Brischler is due back in court on Aug. 22.
