A homeless heroin addict arrested in a string of knifepoint robberies in Suffolk County was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Shane Cashmore’s sentence will run concurrently with one imposed last month in a
Nassau robbery spree.
Before he was sentenced, Cashmore apologized to those he hurt saying, “I am a person that failed.”
Cashmore robbed 18 businesses, including a Carvel and Dunkin’ Donuts, Game Stop and a Subway restaurant during a 10-week crime spree last year.
