Two Hempstead-based charity organizations will no longer receive funding from New York State. The Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) is one of two groups that was told its funding has been cut. The INN, which provides meals and care packages to the homeless, will no longer receive $125,000 in funding for its shelter and food kitchen. Tens of thousands of dollars were also cut from the Coalition for Domestic Violence. The center provides services for battered women. Directors there say without funding, they will be forced to cut staff.State Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) and other lawmakers say they are hoping the state restores the funds.
