A home run derby in Coram was about a lot more than baseball Thursday.
Home Runs for Easton was held at Diamond in the Pines to raise money for Easton, a 13-month-old Long Islander who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in an accident at his home in March.
Easton is undergoing intense rehab at a hospital in Philadelphia.
His uncle Jim said he was so appreciative of everyone that turned out to support the cause.
"This is so heartfelt," he said. "We can't even express the gratitude we have for the entire community coming together like this. The appreciation -- it's hard to even put into words."
