At least five men are dead after a weekend of violence throughout the borough.
On Saturday night, an 18-year-old was fatally shot in the head near Fulton Avenue and 173rd Street, according to police. Authorities say on Sunday morning, a 40-year-old man was shot in the head on Ford Street behind the Twin Park West Houses.
The violence continued through Sunday night, when police say a man in his 40s was killed in the lobby of 1749 Grand Concourse. A man in his 20s was also fatally shot after a fight broke out on 211th Street on Memorial Day.
The series of weekend shootings continued into the workweek when a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg on Billingsley Terrace, police say. That man is expected to survive.
Meanwhile, police do not believe the shootings are related. No arrests have been made.
