A Holbrook man was arraigned Tuesday for allegedly driving drunk and fatally striking a pedestrian.
Prosecutors say 33-year-old Eric Lindemann was driving drunk on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma around 11:40 a.m. Monday when he struck and killed 64-year-old Amanullah Aman.
Aman was putting out the garbage in front of his home when he was struck.
News 12 spoke to Aman's family Tuesday. They said he had just spent the Labor Day weekend celebrating with family. They say Aman was a married man with three children and four grandchildren.
Prosecutors said in court that Lindemann was given a Breathalyzer and his blood alcohol content was .15 -- nearly double the legal limit. According to prosecutors, Lindemann "had glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet."
Lindemann has a prior DWI conviction from 2011.
Prosecutors are still waiting for the blood test results to come back and confirm Lindemann's blood alcohol content. He is charged with DWI, but those charges could be upgraded.
The judge set his bail at $50,000.
