Hofstra University officially welcomes first female president
It was a monumental day for Hofstra University as the campus community welcomed its first female president in the institution’s history.
Dr. Susan Poser was formally inaugurated today as the university's ninth president.
Poser succeeded Stuart Rabinowitz, who retired after nearly five decades with Hofstra. And now, after taking over the esteemed role, she is sharing some words of encouragement to the Hofstra community.
"If we have the commitment, the discipline and the energy - we will prosper as never before,” she added.
Dr. Poser began her role as Hofstra University's newest president on Aug. 1 after working in higher education for over 25 years.
