Hofstra student wins suit against US Army
A Hofstra student has won a suit against the U.S. Army over his religious beliefs.
Iknoor Singh is a practicing Sikh and student at Hofstra who says he was previously denied a request to enroll in the Army ROTC program.
Singh says he was denied for keeping his long hair and beard, which is a part of his religion.
A federal district judge ruled in Singh's favor, saying the Army violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
