A Hofstra University student claims she and her boyfriend were held at gunpoint at an off-campus home.
On the eve of the first day of class, Jamie Rollo says she and her boyfriend were startled out of their sleep by a gun-wielding burglar.
Police say they were called to a home on Fairview Boulevard in Hempstead around 11:35 p.m. Monday.
Rollo says the man was in his 30s and dressed in all black, with an American flag bandana covering part of his face. She says he demanded money and jewelry, but she had none. So she says the intruder took her Macbook.
No one was harmed.
Hofstra says it's cooperating with police.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
