Two of Long Island's premiere college athletics programs will not be seeing sports return this fall.
Hofstra and Stony Brook Friday postponed all fall sports competitions, including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross-country, tennis and swimming. It also means no football at Stony Brook.
School officials say athletes will be allowed to train on campus if state and local guidelines allow it, and they hope to resume fall sports in the spring.
As of now, Hofstra's basketball season will start on time, but Stony Brook's would not begin until 2021.
Division II Molloy College, NYIT and Adelphi have also postponed their fall sports.
