After playing host to three presidential debates in the last three consecutive elections, Hofstra University will not be hosting a fourth this campaign season.
The school is off the list of locations for the 2020 presidential debates. A Hofstra spokeswoman told Newsday that the school "chose not to apply this cycle," though it's unclear why.
Six other Universities are in the running, including Notre Dame, Belmont University in Nashville, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Host sites will be announced next month.
Hofstra played host when Barack Obama faced Sen. John McCain in 2008, when Obama faced Mitt Romney in 2012, and when Donald Trump debated Hillary Clinton in 2016.
