A bicycle rider was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision Sunday morning on West Hoffman Avenue, and now police say they are searching for the driver.
Police say it's not clear who is at fault, but they want help looking for a four-door sedan with tinted windows, and "extensive damage to the front end and possibly the right front corner," according to Sgt. Kevin Cain.
The victim, 35-year-old Marcario Gavarrete, attempted to cross 13th Street at 1 a.m. Sunday morning when the driver hit him. Gavarrete was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and listed in very serious condition.
Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
