Police tell News 12 they found a man lying in the street on Dyckman Avenue in Garden City Park on Tuesday evening.
A witness told officers a black Acura struck the man and sped off.
The victim suffered head trauma, was bleeding heavily and was rushed to the hospital.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
