Brookhaven's new highway superintendent told News 12 that crews were prepared to keep roadways clear during its first true test of wintry weather on Saturday.
Superintendent Dan Losquadro says the town's snow prevention and removal efforts began by spraying the major roads with a salt water solution Friday evening.
The town had about 250 pieces of equipment out on the roads.
Losquadro says today's storm was a good test of snow removal equipment that has not seen action since last winter.
Brookhaven officials were widely criticized earlier this year after a blizzard paralyzed roadways across the township in February.
