STORM WATCH: Mostly sunny and warm Monday before chance of isolated evening thunderstorms for Long Island

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- The weekend closes out with a beautiful summer end outside of a few rogue showers. Preparing for the new week and just ahead of Labor Day weekend. High pressure will continue to influence mainly dry and sunny conditions for Long Island.
- There will be some opportunities for passing systems to bring rain and isolated storm threats to the region, especially Monday evening and Wednesday evening.
- On Monday, morning, lunchtime and the drive home will all be good. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to develop after 5 p.m. but any threats are likely to end by Monday before midnight.
- There are no expected issues from weather on Tuesday with sunny, dry conditions and temperatures will be in the mid-80s and some areas near 90 degrees.
- Wednesday will see a warm front to move into the region, pushing temperatures into the 90s. Humidity will increase as more moisture is brought into the region making for a muggy day. Wednesday evening sees a cold front to move into the area behind the warm front which will likely bring rain and stormy weather for our Wednesday evening.
- The work week ends on a very pleasant note. Temperatures will drop to the upper-70s along with the humidity being much more favorable. Smooth sailing to close out the work week.

OVERNIGHT: A few clouds, but fine overall. Lows in the low- to mid-60s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and warm. There is a chance for isolated thunderstorms in the evening. Highs in the low-80s. Lows in the mid-60s.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, warm and dry. Highs in the low- to mid-80s. Lows in the upper-60s.
WEDNESDAY: Hot, humid, rain and evening thunderstorms are likely. Highs in the mid-80s. Lows in the upper-60s.
THURSDAY: Very pleasant and sunny. Highs in the upper-70s. Lows in the mid-60s.
