FROST ADVISORY:
A frost advisory is in effect for eastern Suffolk County overnight through 9 a.m. Sunday, as temperatures drop to 33 degrees, resulting in the formation of frost. Be sure to cover any sensitive plants and outdoor vegetation, or bring them indoors to protect them from frost formation.

An elevated risk of fire spread is in place across Long Island through Sunday.
Gusty northwest winds between 25 and 30 mph combined with low relative humidity near 30%, will create favorable conditions for fires to ignite and spread. Dry vegetation and limited recent rainfall will increase the risk. Outdoor burning is discouraged and residents should use caution with any open flames. The winds will shift on Sunday, blowing from the south but still reach gusts around 20 mph in the afternoon.

Winds will gradually ease as high pressure builds in, allowing for a calm and cool overnight period. Lows will fall into the 30s and lower 40s.
Sunday remains dry with a mix of sunshine and passing clouds. An ocean breeze will develop, keeping temperatures mainly in the 50s. While winds will be lighter, dry conditions persist and continue to support an elevated fire risk.
A gradual warmup begins Monday and becomes more noticeable by Tuesday.
Temperatures will climb into the 60s on Monday and reach the 70s in many locations on Tuesday, though coastal areas may stay slightly cooler due to onshore flow. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds, with a slight chance for an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm.
The warmest weather arrives by midweek.
Inland parts of Long Island could reach the 70s while coastal areas remain a few degrees cooler by Wednesday. A cold front may bring scattered showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday into early Thursday.
Temperatures dip slightly but remain above average into Friday following the front, with dry weather returning to close out the week.
