Suffolk County police say high speed may be to blame for a car accident that claimed the lives of an uncle and nephew from Selden Tuesday.
According to police, 29-year-old Shawn Giglio was driving on County Road 83 in Coram when he lost control of his car. The vehicle hit and uprooted trees before coming to rest on its side. Giglio?s nephew, 19-year-old Robert Giglio, was riding in the front passenger seat.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the two may not have been wearing seat belts. The accident is under investigation.
