A Hempstead family is grieving Tuesday after learning that their loved one was one of five people killed in a tour bus accident upstate. Investigators are looking at tire failure as a possible cause of Monday's Greyhound bus crash on I-87. Officials say one of the front tires on the bus may have blown out, causing the vehicle to crash and flip over onto its roof in Essex County. The bus driver and four passengers were killed including an 81-year-old grandmother from Hempstead. The driver has been identified as 52-year-old Ronald Burgess formerly of Central Islip. Police say 48 of the 52 passengers were injured.
