A woman faces up to six months in jail after admitting to abandoning an injured dog.

The Nassau DA says Tamara Copeland, of Hempstead, has plead guilty to animal cruelty.

Prosecutors say Copeland left the poodle mix that had open wounds outside the Hempstead Animal Hospital in 2015.

Turns out, the 15-year-old dog had been stolen.
