Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin says he will not seek reelection in November.

The Republican incumbent is currently serving his third term in the role.

"I want to thank the residents of the Town of Hempstead for the support they have shown me during my tenure as supervisor and also while I worked as Receiver of Taxes. I hope to serve the public in a different capacity as I intend to run for a seat on the bench of the Nassau County Court," Clavin said in a statement.
