The Hempstead School District held a news conference today to discuss how it is handling errors in its summer reading list.

The misspellings included titles like "The Great Gypsy" instead of "The Great Gatsby." It also called the author of "Animal Farm" George Ornell instead of George Orwell.

School district spokesperson Alicia Figueras apologized for the errors and said the district will take disciplinary action against the employee who made the mistakes.

The school initially blamed a computer system for the errors.
