The Hempstead School Board says it has officially accepted the results of May's school board election.
The school board president announced Friday that incumbent Maribel Toure and newcomer Gwendolyn Jackson were the top vote-getters.
Shelly Brazley, along with the Long Island Council of Clergy, held a news conference and repeated claims that the vote could have been tampered with.
Brazley and the clergy want the state Education Department to order a new election. The department told News 12 that no one has filed a formal appeal.
