Hempstead police transformed the Hempstead Armory into a haunted house for local families.
It's the second annual Halloween haunted house event, which aims to build trust in the community.
The goal is to bring hundreds of families and kids in to safely enjoy scary sights and candy.
"It is an alternative and safe way to celebrate Halloween without worrying about our kids being in traffic."
The haunted house is open 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Hempstead Police Armory Building.
