Sentencing was adjourned Thursday for a Hempstead man who abducted his ex-girlfriend and slammed into a gas station in Roosevelt two years ago.

Police say Tyler Gunter plowed his Hummer into a gas station near Nassau Road on Aug. 8, 2015.

They say the incident happened after he abducted his ex-girlfriend and held her captive in his home.  

Authorities say the woman was able to get away.
