Nassau police arrested a Hempstead High School teacher on school grounds Tuesday after he allegedly sexually abused a student.
According to police, 37-year-old Dubner Saintilus, of Huntington Station, inappropriately touched a student after school Monday. Investigators say Saintilus also made sexual comments toward the 16-year-old female during an extra-help session. Police say the victim ran from the room and told her parents, who called police. Saintilus has taught math at the school for eight years and also serves as an auxiliary police officer in Suffolk County.
The Suffolk County Auxiliary Police have suspended Saintilus, but his current employment status with the school hasn't been confirmed.
Saintilus faces third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor charge. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
Nassau County police ask any other potential victims to come forward and call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
