A fire in Hempstead has left more than 30 people homeless.Officials say the blaze broke out at the Colonial Gardens Apartments on Jackson Street around 8 p.m. Monday.Police say the fire was started by an 11-year-old boy. According to police, the boy was using incense in his living room when the fire started.Officials say six apartments were damaged in the blaze.Tenants affected by the fire are staying in emergency housing provided by the Red Cross.
