This holiday season Hempstead animal shelter is waiving adoption fees.
As part of its annual "Home for the Holidays" program, the shelter is waiving the fees from now until Jan. 4.
New owners also won't have to pay to get their spayed or neutered, vaccinated or microchipped.

The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday.
