The bursts of heavy rain and lightning Friday spouted a new wave of concerns over flooding in the South Shore community of Lindenhurst.
The latest rainfall marked the second time the village has hit with severe weather in just as many weeks. There is still water in the streets leftover from last week's storm.
Along Grenada Parkway, many residents are still rebuilding from Superstorm Sandy.
"I've been living here 17 years," says Lindenhurst resident David Lesser. "We never had a problem with water in the street up until Sandy."
Although his block did not flood Friday, Lesser says that any bout of heavy rain has residents worried. He says the constant fear of flooding has taken its toll on him and his neighbors.
