Heavy rain brought more flooding to neighborhoods along the South Shore on Monday.

Streets like Garretson Avenue in Islip and Division Avenue in Massapequa were inundated with water, not long after Tropical Storm Andrea wreaked havoc in low-lying areas. Residents say they've experienced drainage issues since Irene that only worsened after Sandy.

Town of Oyster Bay officials say they hear residents' concerns and are looking into the issue. Town Highway Commissioner Kevin Hanifan says he believes a clogged underground pipe is keeping rainwater from draining into the bay.

Meanwhile, Town of Islip officials have announced federal funding to help pay for additional drainage. The project is expected to start within the year.
