News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says it will be hot and humid before some relief comes on Tuesday.

HEADLINES:

• A heat advisory is in effect for Nassau County and northwestern Suffolk County through 8 p.m. Friday with feels-like temperatures in the mid- to upper 90s.

• Hot and humid weather into the weekend with the chance of pop-up showers and storms - mostly during the late afternoon hours with the heat of the day. Most of the time it will be dry with sun and clouds.

• Relief from hot humid weather by Tuesday next week.

OVERNIGHT: Chance for a shower or storm early, otherwise partly cloudy, warm and muggy with lows near 74 degrees. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 5:50 a.m.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, hot and humid. Chance for late day pop up showers and storms. Highs near 88.degrees. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 8:06. Chance for a shower or storm overnight with lows near 74 degrees.
