? A head-on collision in Bethpage claimed the lives of three people Sunday morning and prompted neighbors to call for changes to a dangerous road.
Police say 41-year-old Anthony Verdecchia of Plainview was driving a limousine west on Quaker Meeting House Road when he collided with a Mercedes Benz. Authorities say Verdecchia died at the scene. Witnesses claim they saw the Mercedes pass another car while heading east on the long, winding road. Neighbors believe that?s when the collision happened. Police say the driver of the car, Don Bonifazio of Plainview, and a passenger, Wayne Forman of Greenlawn, died at the hospital. Another passenger from the Mercedes is in stable condition.
Residents complain this is the latest in a string of accidents on Quaker Meeting House Road. They say they frequently hear tires screeching to a halt and see collisions there.
