Hardware issue reported at Nassau County's fire communications center

Fire officials say the public's safety has not been put in jeopardy and work is being done to fix the issue.

Nassau County officials says it became aware of a hardware issue at its fire communications center over the weekend.
News 12 is told that it created issues in getting signals out to fire departments.
Some of Nassau's 71 fire departments are still relying on back-up dispatching agencies.
Fire officials say the public's safety has not been put in jeopardy and work is being done to fix the issue
