Hampton Bays man charged with sexual abuse of child

A Hampton Bays man accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a child was arrested on Friday, according to authorities.

East Hampton police say Jaime Benigno Fajardo Fajardo was taken into custody after the victim disclosed the abuse to a Child Protective Services employee.

Following an interview with detectives, officials concluded it occurred on multiple occasions between 2022 and 2025.

The 36-year-old now faces charges including sexual conduct against a child, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at East Hampton Town Justice Court.
