Expect heavy snowfall at times tonight into the early morning hours of Saturday.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALERTS:
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday All across the region.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • A large winter storm is dumping snow across our borough. Snow continues overnight.
  • Snowfall rates may become intense at times. The wind may gusts up to 25 mph, which will reduce visibility to less than a half mile.
  • Snow could transition into sleet as warmer air tries to move in. This will reduce the final snow totals.
  • The majority of snow tapers off by 7 a.m. Saturday. However, colder air settles in - causing the snow to transition to ice.
  • Another system is in sight for Sunday into Monday, bringing mainly rain showers to the region with gusty winds to follow. The gust will linger from Monday afternoon into New Year's Eve.

SATURDAY: STORM WATCH - Snow wraps early on to mostly cloudy skies. Highs: low-30s. Lows: upper-20s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy to overcast with a rain chance for the second half of the day. Highs: upper-30s to low-40s. Lows: mid-30s.
MONDAY: Morning rain fades with gusty winds to move in and drier skies. Highs: upper-40s to low-50s. Lows: mid-20s.
