Residents on Carol Court were forced to leave their homes after a gunshot went off in a neighbor?s house Thursday night.
Police arrived at the home of a 58-year-old hunter after neighbors reported hearing a gunshot. Neighbors were told to leave their houses or stay in their basements as hostage investigators surveyed the home. Police said that the gun went off when the hunter was cleaning it.
Police said they thought they were dealing with a hostage situation because the man wouldn't answer the door or the phone. Officials said it turned out the man was taking a nap. Some neighbors had to wait outside of their homes for at least two hours before they were allowed back in.
