Members of the East Hampton Airplane Noise Committee say they observed and took footage of unsafe practices while visiting East Hampton Airport.
The eight-member committee was formed a few months ago in response to aircraft noise complaints.
They say they filmed unescorted children running onto the tarmac to greet their father. They also say they saw fuel trucks parked in an unsafe area, forcing passengers to walk between the trucks to access terminals.
The airport director tells News 12 Long Island that the trucks did not violate any airport guidelines.
East Hampton Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell says the trucks were parked in the wrong area. He says the town has implemented a curfew to deal with aircraft noise concerns and is now looking into the safety concerns.
