Police are searching for the person who stole wrapped Christmas presents from a home in West Islip.
They say the burglary happened at a home on Milligan Lane sometime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday.
Homeowner Susan Muller told News 12 that someone broke into the family's bathroom window and stole wrapped gifts from under their Christmas tree.
"It's very disturbing that someone was in my home without my permission," said Muller.
Muller says she forgot to turn on her alarm that day, and plans to get a dog and security cameras.
Police say there was also a burglary on Pease Lane in West Islip on Dec. 11 where jewelry was stolen.
A Suffolk police spokesman says detectives are looking at a possible link between the burglaries since they happened a block and a half away on the same afternoon. He says there's no specific evidence of a connection as of yet.
