'Gridiron Girls': Flag football players overcome adversity to beat the boys
The Levittown-Seaford-Wantagh Flag Football League had a different look this season thanks to a bunch of "Gridiron Girls."
The 10-year-old Tigers are an all-girls flag football team.
The girls at first wouldn't get much action -- the boys wouldn't even throw them the ball. So head coach Dennis Fanning said enough and put together 13 ponytailed pigskin players, determined to beat the boys.
But the girls didn't exactly turn heads at first. The girls still needed work, going 0-3 to start. But then the Tigers got tough, winning four in a row.
While dealing with some poor sportsmanship from the boys, the girls have still built up tons of confidence.
The Tigers made the playoffs and finished their season with a 4-5 overall record.
