The historic Greenport Cinema is up for sale.

The theater was built in 1939 to replace an earlier theater that was destroyed by a hurricane.

It was restored in 2004 and now has four screens, new seating, a cafe and a custom ticket booth.

The cinema also has a space for concerts, cultural events or film festivals.

The asking price for the cinema is $5.5 million.

The broker tells News 12 it can also be leased long-term.
