Long Islanders headed to Patchogue Thursday for the first day of the Great South Bay Music Festival.
This is the festival's 14th year, but the first one in two years due to the pandemic.
Fifty-five local and national bands will be performing at the four-day festival.
"I love seeing the local bands that play on the smaller stage - I love seeing big acts here," says Jordan Butler, of Patchogue.
James Faith, founder of the Great South Bay Music Festival, says the event includes something for every music taste to jam bands and classic rock.
"The four days are completely different music," Faith says. "It's really for music lovers - four completely different demographics."
Crowds are also drawn to local vendors who give the nearby economy a boost.
